ARE YOU A MOM OR A DAD?

One of my friends e-mailed this to me and I thought I would share it with you.


Mom Test
I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something
off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from
her and I asked her not to do that.

"Why?" my daughter asked.

"Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's
dirty, and probably has germs," I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked,

"Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart."

I was thinking quickly.

"All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it,
or they don't let you be a Mom."
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently
pondering this new information.

"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad."

''Exactly," I replied back with a big smile on my face.

I know that me stealing images off of other peoples blog's is kind of creepy. Right?! But, this one just brought tears to my eyes. It is from Girltalk.blogs.com and the picture is titled Mom-Mom and Owen. It just reminded me of my mom for several reasons: 1) we called her Mom-Mom. 2) when we went to see her, she would bathe my kids and wrap them up in a towel on her lap until they warmed up. 3) Her beautiful loving smile.
You never get over loosing a parent! The days get easier, that's all.

What is the difference between 102 degrees in the summer and 102 degrees in the winter?

With a temp of 102 in the summer, you are probably talking about how hot it is outside. You want ice tea, lemonade, or a bottle of water. Your kids are begging for ice cream or a slush from Sonic. Reading a book inside an air conditioned house is all you think of while you are at the pool with the kids. Plans are being made to go on vacation or for the annual 4^th of July bash. Just think, it will be here before you know it!

But, the temp of 102 I am referring to now is my daughter, Ashley’s. This is the temp that bothers me more than anything. I would take all of the illness on myself so that she would not have to endure it? The pitiful sound of her cough, the heart-rending looks on her face, and loss of upbeat personality just break my heart.

There are many of you that have children who have been sick during this season and I am glad they are well. The one’s who have not been blessed with the “bug”, keep it clean! Maybe they won’t get it!!
